Yesterday, Buzzfeed shared that Pinterest and The Knot Worldwide have both agreed and are taking action to "Stop Promoting Wedding Content That Romanticizes Former Slave Plantations."

As a wedding professional, venue owner and human being, this is an important conversation. It's also not an easy conversation to have, it's hard. Just read some of the comments on the Buzzfeed article - emotions are running high and rightfully so.

Let me preface this by saying: My guest and I are both white women and fully acknowledge the level of privilege that comes with that. We're having this discussion as two humans who care deeply about these things and as two wedding professionals.

I've brought Brittny Drye from @loveincmag onto the podcast today for a special episode to share her initial thoughts on the steps Pinterest and The Knot Worldwide have taken. Brittny works tirelessly in the LGBTQ+ space. Inclusivity for all is at the top of her list.

We discuss:

- What we've gathered about this topic (it just broke yesterday)
- Why this is happening now
- What plantation venue owners and employees can do to move forward
- and More

This is a place for open, respectful dialogue. Please share your thoughts in the comments of Instagram or you can DM me if you need to chat but need a one on one space.
